Back in 2012 the Air Ambulance Kent Surrey and Sussex (or AAKSS), could only fly during daylight hours and plans to provide night flying were only a dream. We wanted to help change this – so the UK Lions Club set a target of raising £250,000 in donations that would enable the AAKSS to develop a 24/7 helicopter emergency medical service.

We’re pleased to report that the target sum has now been achieved and donated. With our help, the AAKSS launched night flying operations in 2013, and this has directly helped the AAKSS to attend over 1,500 extra patients with life-threatening conditions.

The Haywards Heath Lions Club would like to offer our congratulations and sincere thanks to all who have been involved in making this project such a success.

However, the AAKSS needs permanent funding in order to remain operable. New equipment to replace out of date equipment is a constant requirement so if you feel you would like to donate then please either use our donate button or contact our secretary on 0345 8335807 who will be able to help with telephone and postal donations.
