Planning has now started for our 2022 Swimarathon

After a 2 year gap caused by the pandemic, Haywards Heath Lions Club have now started planning their next Swimarathon Event.

The next Haywards Heath Lions Club Swimarathon will now take place 15th April 2022, on Good Friday.

What is the Haywards Heath Lions Club Swimarathon 2022?

The Haywards Heath Lions Club’s Swimarathon is an annual charity fundraising event held at the Dolphin Leisure Centre on Good Friday, 15th April 2022.

Teams of six swimmers are invited to swim in a 55-minute-long relay to raise money for a good cause of their own choice or for the Lions’ selected good causes.

Fundraise for causes that matter to you

We appreciate that many good causes and very worthy charities all need to replenish their funds after difficult few years – so we’ve decided that all teams entering our 2022 Swimarathon will be able to ask for 100% of any sponsorship that that team raises to go to their own chosen good cause.

However, if you do choose to nominate Haywards Heath Lions Club’s Charitable Trust as the good cause you’re going to raise money for when your team takes part in at our 2022 Swimarathon – then that would be just fine with us – and you’ll be directly helping our Lions to continue in their support of a growing number of local causes in and around Haywards Heath and the wider district area.

How much did we raise last time?

Last time Haywards Heath Lions Club hosted a Swimarathon in 2019 and impressive sixty-four teams entered and swam an incredible 6,013 lengths between them.

In total, the teams raised £21,781.49 for charitable causes and organisation.

Out of the money raised, Haywards Heath Lions Club were able to present Headway East Sussex with a donation of £15,000. The remainder of all the money raised was paid to the other good, causes chosen by the individual teams.

Is the Swimarathon a competition?

The Haywards Heath Lions Club Swimarathon is principally a charity event. However, there is a voluntary competitive side to the event each year.

We love to celebrate success in every form, so below we have listed the ‘winners’ from our 2019 Swimarathon competitions:
